Tour Details

Points, the championship freeroll, our weather policy and house rules.

Championship freeroll

First place wins a $10,000 seat into a tournament of the winner's choice, plus $1,000 for travel.

Qualify by earning at least 6 points during the season. Freeroll stacks are not capped, so the more you play, the more chips you start with.

And another 10,000 chips for every 6 points after that.

How points work

  • 1 point for every tournament you enter, or 2 points when more than 100 players enter.
  • +2 points for cashing in a tournament.
  • +3 points for winning any tournament.
  • Points are doubled for tournaments with more than 100 unique players.
  • Point chopping is not allowed. If the prize pool is modified, the 3-point win bonus is not awarded.

Winter weather policy

Tournaments are canceled if the National Weather Service issues a winter storm warning for the tournament's area. We watch the forecast before every event and make the call together with the host charity. Watch @701Poker for announcements.

House rules

  1. Standard rake is 20% unless otherwise noted.
  2. Chips that cross the betting line without a verbal declaration count as a bet or raise for the chips that cross.
  3. The dealer button starts on seat one for all tournaments and after seats are redrawn.
  4. A hand is dead if the player is not able to touch their seat when the last card is dealt.
  5. Misconduct can lead to sitting out one to three orbits or disqualification. Disqualified players forfeit their chips and entry fee.
  6. Verbal or physical attacks on dealers or players are penalized. Berating a player earns a one-orbit penalty; a second offense means disqualification.
  7. Tournament Directors' decisions are final.
  8. Adding a single chip to the pot without declaring it counts as a call, even if you already have chips in the pot.
  9. All hands in the main and side pots must be tabled and are live on all-in showdowns.
  10. Play halts at tables with three fewer players than the largest table. Tables stay within two players of each other and may be balanced more tightly at the Tournament Director's discretion.
  11. With a big blind ante, the big blind posts the ante first, with no reduction at the final table.
  12. Tables stay nine-handed as often as possible, and final tables start nine-handed.
  13. Dealer appreciation tips for volunteer dealers are suggested, never mandatory.
  14. Protect your own hand and do not look at other players' hands. Getting information for another player is a misconduct penalty.
  15. Winnings are subject to federal and state taxes. W-2G forms are completed for winnings of $5,000 or more above the buy-in.
  16. If a tournament is not finished when the host location closes, remaining players are paid by ICM chop unless everyone agrees to a different split.
